Local 1245’s Peer-to-Peer Program for Line Safety
Hold the Pull is the IBEW 1245 peer-to-peer safety initiative for members who work within the electrical line trades .
This initiative seeks to create a safety culture that motivates IBEW members to promote safety through mutual support and protection on the job. Hold the Pull was selected as the initiative title based on the old wire stringing emergency call out to stop the pull, check the problem, clear the problem and then resume the work. Hold the Pull applies to any safety related work process, rule or condition within the line trade. The goal of the Hold the Pull initiative is for all workers to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their crewmates.
Members can consult with a Hold the Pull Safety Steward to help resolves safety concerns that arise. If the Safety Steward is not able to resolve the issue, it can be referred to the Hold the Pull Advisory Committee.
If you want more information about the Hold the Pull program, or to volunteer to be a Safety Steward, please contact Business Representative Fred Aboud.
