The Company and the Union have been in discussions to improve our joint local hiring efforts and
to staff Apprentice Welding Positions in General Construction Gas in an expeditious manner.
Given the critical need for staffing these positions, the Company and Union agree that Apprentice
Welder – GC – Gas (50010438) positions will be filled through the provisions of Section 305.5. This
Letter Agreement temporarily modifies 305.5 (a), specific to the Apprentice Welder – GC Gas
classification, for the duration of this Agreement. Upon exhausting the geographic promotiondemotion
area, preferential consideration will be given to that employee who has the greatest
Service and is at the top rate of pay in the classification next lower in the normal Line of
Progression and is headquartered outside the area in which the vacancy exists.
