The Company and Union have met regularly over the last several years to improve our joint local hiring efforts and to staff Electric Operations positions in an expeditious manner. Given the critical need for staffing these positions, the Company and Union agreed that it would continue to fill any vacant Electric Line Assistant (51863059) positions through the Unrestricted Appointment process. The parties also agree that Utility Worker (50010223) positions within GC Line construction will continue to be filled through the Unrestricted Appointment process. However, every fifth (5th) vacant position in GC Line Construction within a Promotion/Demotion area (e.g., bid code) will utilize contractual bidding provisions. Either the Company or the Union reserves the right to cancel this agreement by giving the other party thirty (30) days written notice.
