This morning, PG&E announced that President and COO Nick Stavropoulos will be retiring from his position at PG&E.
When Nick came to PG&E seven years ago, he brought with him an unprecedented degree of expertise on gas ops and pipeline related issues, as well as a knack for problem-solving. At that time, PG&E was still reeling in the wake of the San Bruno disaster, but under Nick’s tutelage, the company completely revamped its gas operation, and now boasts what most industry experts agree to be one of the safest pipelines in the United States.
The consummate collaborator, Nick worked closely with IBEW 1245 Senior Assistant Business Manager Joe Osterlund to find win-win solutions for a wide array of issues related to gas work. He was the rare type of executive that remained dedicated to improving the system during the course of his tenure, and his contributions to the company will continue to have an impact for years to come.
On behalf of IBEW 1245, we send Nick our heartfelt congrats, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
