“In light of the vote on the gas and electric letter agreements, we will be going in general negotiations with PG&E in March,” siad IBEW 1245 Business Manager Tom Dalzell. “Our gas and electric members have spoken. I would have been happier with a greater turnout, but those who vote spoke their minds.”
“We believe that ad hoc negotiations are the appropriate place to discuss service crew and first responder crew issues; the dynamics of ad hoc negotiations force a win-win solution in a way that general negotiations don’t,” Dalzell continued. “We will do all that we can to keep these issues in ad hoc negotiations rather than general negotiations. Our negotiating committees are prepared for general negotiations. When proposals are exchanged, we will publish them online. We will finalize dates for the commencement of general negotiations with the company next week.”
