Several members of IBEW 1245 came out in support of fast food workers who went on strike on Nov.10 to demand $15/hour and the right to form a union.
“[Local 1245 activists] Eric Sunderland, Sandi Busse and I walked proudly with our IBEW 1245 banner,” said Organizing Steward Nilda Garcia, who also brought her children with her to the rally. “When I was approached by a young man from talk radio, asking me why I was here, all I can think of was my kids. They are our future, and they deserve a fair living wage. I told him I have a great union job, and we are standing with all working families. We are taking a stand, using our voice, mobilizing and educating!”
