The CIty of Shasta Lake is hiring for a Journeyman Lineman with at least one year working experience after completion of a City and IBEW approved apprenticeship. The Lineman shall be familiar with California GO 95 and GO 128 general orders, as well as Cal OSHA safety regulations. Duties include constructing and maintaining all aspects of Distribution and Transmission electrical systems. This includes but is not limited to setting poles, changing transformers, rubber gloving energized conductors, splicing cable, switching, installing meters, and maintaining streetlights. The Lineman must be able to operate digger derricks, climb poles, and work out of a bucket truck at elevated heights. The Lineman must be able to work alone and troubleshoot the City’s electrical system, making repairs in a safe, timely manner. The Lineman shall have completed a certified rubber glove training program, as well as be familiar with hot stick techniques. The Lineman must have (or be able to obtain within 3 months) a California Commercial Class A driver’s license.
