For the second year in a row, IBEW Local 1245 will be hosting the Utility Safety Operations Leadership Network’s Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) Training on July 21 & 22, 2015 at Weakley Hall in Vacaville. Local 1245 is offering the Vacaville hall as a staging point to train interested persons who wish to further their education in safety leadership development, regulatory updates, incident prevention and hazard identification. In 2014, 18 persons attended the certification class.
The CUSP Blue credential is designed for field personnel involved in safety and CUSP Green is for supervision employees. This nationally recognized safety network is the only credential of its kind in the field of utility safety operations. The two-day class is open nationally to all qualifying persons who meet the criteria for entry established by the program.
The class was officially announced in the January 2015 issue of Incident Prevention magazine and Local 1245 will be announcing the class in the next Utility Reporter. Minimum to maximum class size will be 15-40 students. For more information, contact Rich Lane 209-202-9492 or go to the USOLN website.
