At about 10:30 this morning, one of our lineworkers received an electric shock from a 21-kV line. He was responding to a downed power line in a residential backyard. Our lineworker didn’t lose consciousness and didn’t have any visible signs of injury. He was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation, which is part of SMUD’s standard safety protocol. Members of Grid Assets’ leadership and safety teams were with our lineworker at the hospital. He underwent routine tests and was released at 12:30 p.m. We’ll share more information with you when we know what went wrong and what we’re doing to fix it.
