Members of the IBEW 1245 peer safety initiative spoke at the PG&E Safety Kickoff in Auburn on March 27.
Representing the union’s peer safety group were IBEW Business Representative Richard Lane, retired PG&E Troubleman John Kent, and Liberty Energy’s Casey Kelly. They stressed the importance of taking personal responsibility not only for your own safety on the job but the safety of your co-workers. IBEW 1245 Communications Director Eric Wolfe discussed how safety has been a top concern of the IBEW throughout its history.
The best news of the day: no IBEW 1245 member died on the job in 2013, the first year without an IBEW 1245 fatality since 2007.
