UPDATE: The proposal submission period has closed for the year.
March is the month for IBEW 1245 members at PG&E to submit proposals for bargaining.
This year the union will bargain changes in all three major PG&E agreements: Physical, Clerical and Benefits. As always, these changes begin with you.
You can submit your proposals at unit meetings, to members of the bargaining committee, or to your IBEW 1245 business representative. Or if you prefer, you can submit your proposal online using the form at the bottom of this page.
You can submit as many proposals as you wish, but please use a separate form for each proposal so that each of your ideas gets the attention it deserves. The last day to submit your proposal is March 31st.
During the spring the union’s bargaining committee will read every proposal and fashion them into an opening package to present to the company. Opening packages will be exchanged by IBEW and PG&E negotiators on June 6. The union committee will study the company’s opening package during the summer.
Bargaining will commence shortly after Labor Day. As always, the union will aim to reach a tentative agreement in time for members to study and vote on it prior to the end of the year. The current agreements expire on Dec. 31.
Not sure why we go to all this trouble for negotiations? The answer is simple: bargaining makes a huge difference in the money you take home, the benefits you enjoy, and the conditions under which you work. Check out what IBEW 1245 has gained at the bargaining table through the years.
