IBEW 1245 will host the Utility Safety Operations Leadership Network’s Certified Utility Safety Professional training on July 22-23 at Weakley Hall in Vacaville.
The nationally recognized safety network is the only credential of its kind in the field of utility safety operations.
IBEW 1245 is presenting its union hall as a staging point to train interested staff and signatory employers who have personnel wanting to further their education in leadership development, regulatory updates, incident prevention and hazard identification. There are two credentials available: Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) Blue, designed for field operations personnel involved in safety, and CUSP Green, for safety management personnel.
The two-day class is open nationally to all qualifying persons who meet the criteria for entry.
The announcement of this class will officially be made in the February issue of Incident Prevention magazine. Class size will be 15-40 students. For any questions call Rich Lane at 209-202-9492 or go to the USOLN website at: //www.usoln.org/.
Prior to registering for the CUSP program each candidate should visit the 5 Steps to CUSP. Each CUSP candidate will need to submit an application. The applications must be submitted to USOLN from the website and are reviewed by a committee of industry peers. As the applications are approved each candidate will be sent a link to register for the Vacaville/IBEW class. The registration is on the USOLN website. It is very important that the applicants take the application process seriously and be thorough in filling out the application.
