Peer to Peer Gas Safety Initiative
By Rich Lane
2013 has been a busy year for the Control the Pressure committee, whose members conducted 11 safety presentations at the Tracy Gas Academy, six unit meeting visits, and will by the end of the year conduct three PG&E yard visits in San Francisco, Fresno and the Yosemite Division.
Committee member Ernie Pena was requested to join an accident investigation involving a gas worker who suffered a fall and was hospitalized. PG&E routinely makes requests for peer initiative members to attend informational meetings with PG&E management.
At November’s committee meeting two members were added: Lington Gordon, PG&E Santa Rosa, and Steve Lange, PG&E Chico. The other CTP committee members are:
Roy Cabral, PG&E Modesto; Jerry DeBaca, Antioch Div.; Pat Fryer, PG&E San Rafael; Marty Kumle, NV Energy; Aaron Leatherman, PG&E Modesto; Ernie Pena, PG&E Livermore; Adam Weber, NV Energy.
