BEW Local 1245 members have ratified a new agreement with the City of Fernley, NV.
The two-year agreement, effective July 1, 2013, provides for a 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) on July 1, 2013.
Paid holidays will now count as time worked when computing overtime.
Other provisions of the agreement include:
- Reinstate step and grade progression July 1, 2014 (4% steps)
- Increase on-call pay from $3.50 per hour to $4.25
- Allows use of sick leave to care for sick or injured family member to the third degree of consanguinity
- Increase caps on dependent medical coverage by $40 per year
The agreement was accepted by the City Council in May.
Negotiating for the union were Wayne Vanassche, Jay Freeman, Don Castro and Business Rep. Randy Osborn.
