Members of IBEW Local 1245 have ratified a tentative agreement with the Bella Vista Water District.
The two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was reached at the bargaining table on April 2 and ratified on April 18 after an explanatory meeting. The vote to ratify was unanimous.
The MOU provides an 8.5% general wage increase to all Exhibit “A” classifications and subsequent step progressions.
The MOU provides that effective July 1, 2013 employees who participate in the 2% @ 60 CalPERS defined benefit retirement plan will begin paying the 7% member contribution. Employees hired on or after Jan. 1, 2013 will be subject to the terms and requirements of the California Public Employees’ Pension Reform Act of 2012 (PEPRA).
The MOU is subject to final approval by the District’s Board of Directors.
Serving on the bargaining committee for the union were Phil Alleman, Shop Steward; Brad Solso, Shop Steward; Sheila Lawton, Business Rep; and Ray Thomas, Assistant Business Manager.
