Competition will determine rodeo participants from PG&E
September 15 in Livermore
Nearly three dozen IBEW members at PG&E will compete on Sept. 15 to determine who will attend the International Lineman’s Rodeo that will be held Oct. 13 in Bonner Springs, KS.
PG&E has not participated in the International Lineman’s Rodeo in 14 years, but this year decided to send three 3-person teams and three apprentices to the international competition. Those three teams and apprentices will be selected based on their performance in multiple events at PG&E’s Livermore Training Facility. All PG&E employees are invited to attend this Sept. 15 event.
Team events will consist of Hurtman Rescue, Pole Climb, and 4kV Tangent Insulator Replacement. Apprentice events will consist of Hurtman Rescue, Pole Climb, CPR with AED, Buss out Single Phase Transformer and Cut-outs, and Apprentice Written Test.
