On July 19, 2012 a luncheon celebration was held to acknowledge a fantastic milestone for our members at the Northern California Power Agency’s Geothermal facilities in Middletown…our members clocked 600 thousand hours with no lost time injuries. Also noteworthy was that for three years there were no injuries at all.
NCPA Compliance Manager John Koos and Plant Manager Murray Grande showed their appreciation to all involved, reiterating that such success can only come from everyone working together daily towards one common goal of safety. In essence, our members have truly taken the task of being their brother’s and sister’s keepers to heart.
The milestones didn’t stop there as our member’s excellent safety efforts included helping the NCPA attain both the North West Public Power Association and the American Public Power Association’s safety awards.
The day’s celebrations also marked 25 year NCPA service awards for brothers Hershel Allen (also a 1245 Shop Steward), Heath Fifield and Roger North.
Lastly and very important to all the brothers and sisters present, a heartfelt retirement send-off to brother Frank Aguon was given by all as he culminated 27 safe and productive years with the Agency. His personality, attitude and contribution to the success of the Geothermal facilities will remain in the hearts of all present as he travels the world with his family. We wish him the very best in retirement.
