Union presses for ‘fair and honest’ negotiations
Turlock Irrigation District
At the June 7, 2012 meeting for Unit 1126, Turlock Irrigation District, the Journeymen Linemen offered their continuing support of their negotiating committee.
General negotiations have been hard fought for months, with the IBEW 1245 negotiating committee making good faith movement to reach a tentative agreement with the District.
While the Public Employees Relations Board has already filed one unfair practice complaint against Turlock Irrigation District during these negotiations, it is our belief that the District has continued to bargain regressively.
The IBEW 1245 committee has offered to return to the negotiating table with the District on June 20, 2012; however, we have not heard back from the District as to whether or not they will accept.
The Turlock Irrigation District Employees Association, the other represented bargaining unit on District property, has recently rejected the District’s proposals for a successor Memorandum of Understanding , and they have scheduled fact finding with the District in July.
The IBEW 1245 membership, and their families, have sacrificed for many years to make the Turlock Irrigation District distribution system one of the most reliable in Northern California. In return they demand fair and honest negotiations for their successor Memorandum of Understanding.
The IBEW 1245 negotiating committee consists of Aaron Baker, Ken Gross, Jeff Sturm, “Pat” Patterson, and Richard Lane, along with Business Rep. Charley Souders and Assistant Business Manager Ray Thomas.
