The Local 1245 Benefits Bargaining Committee plans to meet with the company on Tuesdays in September and October.
Most union committee members met the week of July 18. We again reviewed and discussed the proposals of both parties. As previously reported no medical proposal has been submitted by either party.
A subcommittee comprised of consultants hired by the union and company representatives will present their joint recommendations to the Benefits Committee on Aug. 29. The subcommittee’s primary purpose is to determine ways to improve the quality of our benefits. We expect to be given an overview that will focus on the quality of the services provided by our vendors and target areas where errors and/or inappropriate treatments may be eliminated. All recommendations are expected to be evidence-based.
