On Tuesday, June 7, we exchanged proposals with the company. Our proposals totaled 71 that were sent in by our members. There were over 1800+ proposals received and your committee worked long hours to prepare what was exchanged on June 7.
Your committee will take the next two weeks reviewing the company’s proposals, which focused on emergency overtime provisions, meals, hours of work outside of the Monday/Friday workweek, commercial drivers license addendum changes, and job bidding. We will prepare a list of sub-committees that will be formed to assist us in the justification of our proposals for inequity increases for several classifications. We plan to start bringing in the sub-committees to Vacaville around the middle of July.
Traditionally, bargaining starts soon after Labor Day. There is no definite date set. We will update you on our progress throughout the summer prior to our bargaining session.
