PG&E STATEMENT ON THE OPENING OF GENERAL NEGOTIATIONS WITH IBEW LOCAL 1245
Fellow Employees,
Earlier today, the PG&E and IBEW Local 1245 bargaining committees met in Vacaville to begin general negotiations for a new PG&E—IBEW Physical Agreement. After remarks from IBEW Business Manager Tom Dalzell and PG&E President Chris Johns, the two committees exchanged proposals.
At PG&E, we have a long and valued relationship with our labor unions. During collective bargaining, we seek agreements that are fair, competitive and in the best interest of the company and our employees. Quite often, difficult issues are presented for negotiation, but history has shown us that despite our differences, the company and unions can work together for a better PG&E.
As part of Chris Johns’ opening remarks, he shared that our priorities for this year and beyond are focused on earning back customer trust through safety, customer satisfaction and operational excellence. He encouraged both committees to work together on a new Physical and Benefits Agreement that meets the needs of our customers and our employees.
The proposals submitted by both sides are available on the PG&E Labor Relations Web site — Benefits Proposals; Working Condition Proposals — and the IBEW Local 1245 Web site. If you have specific questions, please send them to the HR mailbox.
As the negotiation process proceeds, we will make sure to keep you informed of developments.
Thank you.
