OSHA HEARING ON CRANE AND PPE
Ralph Armstrong and Ron Cochran represented IBEW Local 1245 at a public hearing of the OSHA Board on Jan. 20, where public comments were accepted on the proposed changes to cranes & derricks, personal protective devices, hazardous assessment and equipment selection orders.
“The hearing chambers were packed full of people, both employers and labor, with many different views,” said Cochran, senior assistant business manager for Local 1245.
The union submitted written comments and Armstrong, senior business representative for Local 1245, spoke to the board.
“In this particular case, IBEW Local 1245 was heard and the course of this regulation was changed to benefit our members,” said Cochran.
