After seven bargaining sessions with the City, your negotiating committee has been able to either get agreement or withdrawn seven minor issues. Thirty-one proposals are still being discussed, including all the economic issues, retirement issues, OT issues, and working condition proposals.
Main issues still being discussed for the Union are improved grievance procedure, OT improvements, and wages. The City’s main issues are employee sharing cost of EPMC, retiree medical, service pay, 2-tiering of CalPERS for new hires, and furlough language.
The next scheduled session between the parties will be on December 6, 2010, where the Union will provide the City a comprehensive counter proposal.
