Roseville: Summary of Proposals

Your bargaining committee met with the City on Nov. 8 and worked through some minor issues. The following are summaries of both parties proposals. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 15.

Summary of Union Proposals:

  • Wages
  • CDL certification pay for EU Department
  • Double-time compensation
  • Shift Differentials
  • Minimum pay for phone calls received while on standby
  • Standby pay
  • Bilingual incentive pay
  • Off hour travel pay to training
  • Comptime improvements
  • Change of shift minimum notification
  • Cleanup meal language
  • Amend grievance procedure to eliminate informal/formal process and include binding arbitration
  • Promotional process language to provide seniority
  • Twelve hour Appendix B language improvements

Summary of City Proposals:

  • With the exception of including Holidays, OT calculated in compliance with FLSA
  • Re-opener language
  • Elimination of Prime time pay with more than 12 hours notice
  • Define callbacks
  • Elimination or reduction of retiree benefits including but not limited to Post Retirement Medical, EMPC and employer contributions to defined compensation plan.
  • CalPERS: A) Two tier for employees hired after 1/11/11, B) Eliminate the EPMC and employee to contribute to CalPERS.
  • Elimination of boot allowance for select classifications
  • Agency Shop language
  • Temporary Layoff/Furlough
  • Safety proposal
