PG&E and IBEW Local 1245 met in Vacaville on September 8, 2010 to begin negotiations for a new 2011 Clerical Agreement. After recommitting to good faith negotiations with a goal of reaching an agreement in late fall, both parties agreed to focus the early stages of collective bargaining on wages and PG&E’s two-tier wage and contracting proposals.
The first session to address these issues will take place on Thursday, September 16. Sessions will continue on Mondays and Thursdays through the fall.
IBEW Local 1245 will publish weekly negotiation updates toward the end of each week on our website at www.ibew1245.com and on our IBEW website on the PG&E Intranet. Stay in touch with your IBEW on-site volunteers for opportunities to take action in support of your bargaining committee.

IBEW Local 1245 Business Manager Tom Dalzell and Senior Assistant Business Manager Dorothy Fortier relax during a break in negotiations, but negotiator Lorenso Arciniega is all business as he reviews some documents on his lap top computer, which is emblazoned with the sticker: “Don’t Jerk a Clerk.” Union negotiators had a reason to feel good — Clerical members had their back, in the form of a huge petition bearing 2,300 signatures right behind the bargaining table.
