Merced ID Agreement

Local 1245 members at Merced Irrigation District and the District’s Board of Directors have both given final approval to the multi-year labor agreement that was negotiated this spring.

TERM: April 1, 2013 through September 30, 2016

EMPLOYEE GENERAL WAGE INCREASES:

– April 1, 2014: 2%

– April 1, 2015: 2%

EMPLOYEE BONUSES:

– APRIL 1, 2013:

Bonus pay of up to 2.5% of regular wages plus $500.00 to be paid out in April of 2013.

– APRIL 1, 2016:

.5% Bonus to be paid out in April of 2016.

(Employees shall have the option of taking their bonus payment in pay or they may elect to place their bonus payments into their deferred compensation account.)

Other highlights of the table agreement:

Health Care:

– Enhancements to health and welfare coverage benefit levels through United Health Care. Essentially allows employees the right to receive the ACWA Classic” coverage level of benefits at the former employee monthly premium contributions of $50. Per-month for Employee Only”, $100.00 for Employee +1”, and $150.00 for Employee + Family”.

– Employee elected Opt Out” of District provided health and welfare benefits in lieu of the employee receiving the same monthly opt out payment as provided to the District’s unrepresented employees, but in no event less than 35% of the current enrolled plan premium.

Hours of Work:

– Enhanced DSO work week and hours language.

– Increased on-call compensation.
