Labor Education Program

What is the program?

The IBEW Local 1245 Labor Education Assistance Program will reimburse members for 50% of the cost of tuition for labor relations courses.

What can I study?

You can study just about any topic in the field of labor relations at any recognized institution except correspondence schools.

How do I register for classes?

Contact the school for information on classes and for instructions on how to register.

How do I receive my reimbursement?

You must submit a written request to the Executive Board to receive your reimbursement. The request must reach the Executive Board with sufficient time (six weeks is recommended) for the Board to act before the course is completed. Address your request to:

Executive Board
IBEW Local 1245
P.O.Box 2547
Vacaville, CA 95696

What should my request say?

For your request to be given proper consideration, it must include the following information:

  1. course content and objective;
  2. how you propose to use the course and how it will benefit the local union;
  3. the amount of the tuition or registration fees;
  4. the name of the institution offering the course; and
  5. the location where the course will be offered

When do I collect my money?

To get your money, send the Executive Board a copy of your grade report or some other evidence of satisfactory completion of the course. The union will then send you a check for the proper amount.

For more information, call the Local 1245 Union office at (707) 452-2700.
