IBEW 1245 member Bailie Goodwin, who works for Basin Enterprise, and her husband, Seth, are facing an incredibly difficult journey as their newborn son battles a complex congenital heart defect.
The condition, which was diagnosed during Bailie’s pregnancy, requires highly specialized medical care and major heart surgery. To give their son the best possible chance, the Goodwins made the difficult decision to temporarily relocate from California to Colorado, where he can receive treatment from a specialized pediatric cardiac team.
Their son will require multiple procedures, including open-heart surgery, followed by an extended recovery in the cardiac intensive care unit.
The family’s relocation has also created a significant financial burden. Both parents have had to step away from work to care for their son, and they must remain close to the Colorado hospital throughout his treatment and recovery.
The family has established a GoFundMe to help cover these expenses so they can focus on what matters most: being by their son’s side as he undergoes treatment and recovers.
