The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 1245, announces the rescission of its endorsement and support of candidate Dominic Giorgi, running for Modesto Irrigation District Board in Division 3.
Contrary to his pledges to support the District and its workforce, Mr. Giorgi’s campaign has brought unwarranted and unwanted attention to IBEW members working for MID. Specifically, his campaign has directed voters to non-governmental organizations that routinely misreport costs associated with the operation of public agencies in California. Mr. Giorgi has called for lower rates without recognizing or supporting the work by 1245 members that keep MID going.
In addition, IBEW Local 1245 has requested Mr. Giorgi to return the funds it contributed to his campaign.
Finally, IBEW Local 1245 does not support any candidate in the race to fill the MID Division 3 seat.
