After being called out in the middle of the night to repair a failed primary riser cable and restoring power to customers in the Santa Ynez Valley, PG&E Electric Crew Foreman at the Buellton Yard, Dan Solorio climbed a nearby hillside to verify that the restoration was complete.
As he made his way back down, he stopped for a moment and looked back.
Below him, the jobsite glowed beneath a sky filled with stars. A single beam of light cut through the darkness, pointing toward the crew that had just completed the work. Solorio pulled out his phone and captured the scene.
The next day, he looked at the photo again and realized it was something special.
We’re proud to recognize Solorio’s image as the IBEW 1245 Third Quarter Photo Contest Winner.
The photograph is a reminder that while the public often sees the lights come back on, they don’t always see the dedication, craftsmanship, and long hours required to make that happen.
Congratulations, Dan, on a well-deserved win—and thank you for sharing this remarkable moment.
