IBEW Local 1245 members Tyler Olson and River Woods have officially earned their Journeyman Lineman tickets after successfully passing the California-Nevada Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (Cal-Nev JATC) Journeyman test at the organization’s state-of-the-art training facility in Woodland.
Achieving journeyman status represents years of rigorous classroom instruction, thousands of hours of hands-on training, and an unwavering commitment to mastering the skills needed to safely build, maintain, and restore the electric grid.
The Cal-Nev JATC apprenticeship program is recognized as one of the premier training programs in the country. The program combines extensive classroom education with real-world experience, preparing apprentices to meet the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism while ensuring the next generation of skilled union linemen is ready to serve their communities
