Across IBEW Local 1245, many of our Sisters and Brothers once wore a different uniform before putting on a hard hat and going to work in the skilled trades. The values they carried with them, service, resilience, and commitment to those beside them, continue to shape our Union every day.
With everything happening around the world right now, we recognize that global events can feel deeply personal for many Veterans and military families in our 1245 community. For some, the headlines bring back memories of past service. For others, they bring concern for friends, family, or loved ones who may still be serving.
In moments like these, it’s important to remember something that Veterans have always understood: No one stands alone.
The same spirit of camaraderie that carried service members through difficult times is the same spirit that lives on in the labor movement. We look out for one another. We check in on each other. We stand shoulder to shoulder on the job and in life.
To every Veteran in IBEW Local 1245, and to the families who support them: Your service did not end when you hung up the uniform. You continue to serve your communities every day, keeping the lights on and gas flowing, rebuilding after storms, mentoring the next generation, and strengthening the bonds that hold our Union together.
If the weight of current events feels heavy, reach out. Check in on a Sister or Brother. A simple conversation can mean more than you know.
Today and every day, we are proud to stand with the Veterans of IBEW Local 1245.
In solidarity,
Bob Dean
