IBEW 1245 hosted a Labor Town Hall with Congressman Mike Thompson (CA-04), bringing together union members and community allies for a focused conversation on jobs, infrastructure, and pro-worker policy. The event was organized in partnership with several Central Labor Council affiliates and drew representatives from across the trades, including sheet metal workers, teachers, and healthcare workers.
Organizing Stewards Alvin Dayoan, Ruth Bailey, Kevin Krummes, and Tamara Cacuyog volunteered their own time after work to staff the event, welcome attendees, and help facilitate Q&A. During the discussion, Ruth and Alvin pressed for continued federal support for prevailing wage standards and project labor agreements (PLAs) to ensure that new investment translates into safe, union jobs for working families.
Representing California’s 4th Congressional District—covering communities in Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties—Rep. Thompson spoke about the connection between federal policy and job creation close to home.
IBEW 1245 thanks our volunteer stewards and CLC partners who made the evening a success and every member who showed up, asked questions, and kept the conversation squarely focused on good jobs, safety, and reliability. Events like this keep our priorities front and center with decision-makers and help ensure that public investment leads to union work and stronger local communities across CA-04.
