This Labor Day, we honor the men and women whose hard work powers our communities and keeps our economy moving. At IBEW 1245, we are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the dedicated utility workers, line crews, call center reps, tree trimmers, plant operators, and so many others who keep our communities safe, connected and strong.
Labor Day is a reminder of the fights and sacrifices that won us the rights and protections we all depend on today. From fair pay to safe working conditions, nothing was given—everything was fought for.
A new report put out by UC Berkeley and UCLA confirms what we already know: California remains a strong union state, with one in six workers represented by a union—defying national decline trends. And in Nevada—despite “right to work” laws—we’ve built a powerful union presence, and more and more workers are recognizing firsthand the real, life-changing benefits of union membership.
Standing with you and fighting alongside you is the honor of my life, especially in these times when labor rights are under heightened attack. We will continue to raise our voices, protecting what we’ve built, and ensuring a better future for the next generation of working people.
Our strength is built by all of you, the brothers and sisters who show up and stand together, especially when it’s hard.
On behalf of IBEW 1245, I wish you and your family a safe Labor Day. Thank you for the work you do and for your solidarity that keeps IBEW 1245 strong.
In unity,
Bob Dean
