From June 2-6, 2025, IBEW 1245 participated in the IBEW Broadcast, Manufacturing, and Telecom (BMT) Conference.

L-R: Kenny Lawson (Frontier Citizens), IBEW 1245 Business Representative Cruz Serna, Mike Aaron (Delta Star), & Arnaldo Lizarraga (Trayer Manufacturing)
Held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the annual event provides an opportunity to share industry updates, challenges and opportunities. Key themes included the attacks on organized labor, including the summary firing of federal workers and the attacks on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The conference also addressed the rapidly changing work environment with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.).
IBEW 1245 Business Representative Cruz Serna added, “The IBEW Broadcast, Manufacturing and Telecom Conference talked about big challenges in our field, especially how unions are being attacked by anti-union entities, what’s going on with manufacturing and why organizing is super important. Bringing our members to conferences like the BMT only strengthen our union from within.”
What was the key take away?
“We need to talk openly with our union brothers and sisters about what’s happening with the NLRB. Now is the time to lean in, educate each other, and make our union stronger than ever. And when it comes to tech – don’t fear AI. Embrace it and use it to our advantage at the table,” declared IBEW 1245 member and longtime Trayer employee Arnaldo Lizarraga.
Thanks to everyone who represented IBEW 1245 at the conference.
