Winters, CA – On May 3, 2025, more than eighty IBEW 1245 members participated in the annual Gas Rodeo at the Gas Training Center in Winters, California. The annual event is co-sponsored by IBEW and PG&E. “It is a celebration of the gas trade and the men and women who drive it,” shared IBEW 1245 Business Representative Phuong Tran.

Participants competed in four categories, including 1) cutting pipe, 2) hand digging, 3) assembling gas meter sets, and 4) running a service, showcasing their knowledge and skill as family members watched on. They are judged on speed, quality of work, and above all, safety.
Winning teams qualified to participate in the National Gas Rodeo which will take place in Florence, Kentucky later this year.
