On June 10th, PG&E’s PowerPathway hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate 15 veterans that have completed the 10-week “Entry to Gas Pipeline Inspector” program. This is the 4th cohort that Swords to Plowshares has hosted in partnership with PowerPathway, and the 50th cohort overall. Jesse Vukelic was elected as class Valedictorian, and Jobs for Vets’ program manager, Akta Patel was elected as the honorary graduate.
The completion of the program helps veterans start and build a new career path. Together with IBEW 1245, PG&E has built a 3-year line of progression for the veteran graduates. Following graduation, they have started new employment roles as Pre-Utility Inspectors and will eventually become certified Utility Construction Inspectors.
