Recent administrative decisions by the Governor and Cal OSHA have moved the state into a different posture regarding the requirement for face masks/coverings, as well as other COVID safety measures. The IBEW 1245 Union Hall will begin reflecting these changes on Monday June 21.
Starting Monday, we will no longer have the security guard present in our lobby, and our front door will be unlocked during business hours. We will be adapting to the Cal OSHA rules for places of work. Masks and face coverings will only be required of unvaccinated individuals, or those that decline to state their vaccination status. Those required to wear a mask indoors will be able to remove them while they are alone in a room, or while eating.
We will also be opening up our meeting room spaces for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Unvaccinated individuals, and those declining to state, who attend meetings or functions at the Hall must wear their mask while in our facility, and during the course of the meeting.
Our staff has worked on implementing a plan that will provide continuity to the Outside Line Dispatch process that is currently in place, while also serving to limit the number of individuals occupying the lobby at any given time. We are confident that we can continue to provide efficient service through our Dispatch, just as we have throughout COVID.
To be clear, we still take the health and safety of every person associated with Local 1245 very seriously, and vigilant individual accountability is expected of each and every one of us in order to facilitate a smooth return to normal operations. We cannot emphasize this enough – DO NOT come to the Hall if you or members of your family are experiencing symptoms related to COVID or have tested positive for COVID. Monitor how you are feeling daily, and if you do not feel well, stay home.
Thank you, and see you all in person soon!
