New COVID infection rates continue to decline, the vaccine is now available to all adults in California, and Gov. Newsom has announced that he expects to fully re-open the economy by June 15. Nearly 40% of California residents are already fully vaccinated, but we must remain vigilant in protecting those who are not yet vaccinated from the virus.
IBEW 1245 is planning for the return of our unit meetings, which will resume once restrictions have loosened to the point where we can safely and feasibly hold all 131 meetings that span across our jurisdiction. Unfortunately, some of our unit meeting places have closed permanently during COVID, and our Business Reps are working to find alternative meeting locations for those units. For the time being, IBEW 1245 in-person unit meetings will remain cancelled for the month of May, however, we very much look forward to returning to our normal unit meeting schedule in the coming months. Keep an eye on our website and social media for announcements pertaining to the resumption of unit meetings. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Business Rep.
