Our deepest condolences go out to John Mader, president of Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Local 20, IFPTE, who unexpectedly lost his wife Sandie this week.
“John Mader is a close and trusted friend of Local 1245. We have no words to express the sadness which he is feeling. Sandie’s death reminds us what is important – our families, our friends, life and death,” said IBEW 1245 Business Manager Tom Dalzell. “We grieve for John and remember John Donne’s words – ‘And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.'”
Brother Mader, who works as an Electric Distribution Engineer at PG&E, has asked for privacy for the moment in this extremely difficult time. If you wish to show your support for Brother Mader, a GoFundMe has been set up by the family to assist with funeral expenses. Please contribute what you can and/or leave a message for the family using the link below.
Additionally, employees at PG&E can contribute to Brother Mader via the company’s vacation sale program (You can access the vacation sale in PG&E@WorkForMe through “About Me > My Time > My Vacation Sale.”) The link should be active later today or Monday. Details can be found here.
