Unit #3510, Loomis GC, donated $500 from the Local 1245 Community Fund to support Amy Fedele and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s “Team Hope Walk,” which took place in San Francisco on Oct. 29, 2016.
Both Fedele and her mother have Huntington’s Disease; a neuro-degenerative (brain shrinking) genetic disorder that leads to mental and behavioral symptoms. As a Huntington’s Disease Society ambassador and team captain for the Walk, Fedele successfully raised more than $10,000, including the donation from the Loomis GC unit, to support the ongoing effort to find a cure for Huntington’s.
“Thank you so much for the donation! I wore your logo proudly!” Fedele wrote in an email to the union. “I truly believe we will find a cure.”
