Support Needed for IBEW 1245 Member Whose Daughter is Suffering from a Brain Tumor

September 16, 2015

Below is a message from IBEW 1245 member Shawn Sumpter, pertaining to her daughter, Sarah. To send a donation, visit //www.gofundme.com/sprintingforsarah.

It has been a good race. She kept her head up and ran through the finish. Time for the cool down.

Since Sarah Sumpter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in September of 2010, she has fought hard to live as normal a life as possible. Normal for her meant training and competing as an elite runner and earning a degree in psychology at UC Davis. It also meant continuing to share her story so that others might have hope and not feel alone.

So many people have reached out and asked what they can do to help. While we know there may be financial needs to come we are OK for now. If you wish to donate  please do so with the understanding that our intention after meeting any obligations, is to create something that benefits people and programs that are so important to Sarah. She heard your voices cheering her on. You are her community. All she has ever wanted to do is give back to the people and community that have been so supportive of her and also to all the people she had yet to meet.

Thank you.
The Sumpter Family
Sarah, Shawn, Brian and Joshua
