On June 15, the IBEW 1245 members employed at the City of Fernley unanimously ratified a new one-year agreement. The new contract will be in effect from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. It includes a 4% wage/step increase for employees who have satisfactory performance, which will start on the anniversary date of each individual. The agreement also contains better defined overtime language and increased payout for employees achieving training or certifications not required in their job description. Additionally, new employees are now able to promote after 90 days (under the prior agreement, they had to wait a full year).
