PG&E has announced that beginning this year, the company will match employee donations to ALL nonprofit organizations up to $1,000 through the company’s annual “Campaign for the Community” fundraising drive. Previously, the program was limited to organizations in PG&E’s service area.
Last year, PG&E employees and retirees raised more than $6.5 million for nonprofit organizations and schools in their communities through Campaign for the Community, exceeding the previous year’s donations by $500,000. The company reports that since 2000, PG&E employees and retirees have raised more than $55 million through the Campaign for Community, benefitting schools and organizations in communities where they live and work. These monies are in addition to the $23 million PG&E donates annually throughout its service area.
The IBEW 1245 Veterans Committee is pleased that the new policy includes all Veterans charities and organizations, regardless of location. In the coming weeks, the Veterans Committee will be posting a list of recommended Veterans charities that would benefit from the generosity of our members and PG&E.
