IBEW Local 1245 is sponsoring journeyman teams and apprentices to travel to Kansas for the 31st Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo and Expo, which will take place October 15-18, 2014 in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
All IBEW Local 1245 Journeyman Linemen who are members in good standing are eligible to apply. All IBEW Local 1245 Apprentice Linemen who have completed one full year of apprenticeship and are members in good standing are eligible to apply.
Local 1245 will send up to four (4) journeyman teams and eight (8) apprentices. Qualifying apprentices from any IBEW 1245 employer–including Outside Line contractors–are encouraged to apply.
Participants will travel to Kansas City early on October 15 and return early on October 19. The union will provide shirts, travel, lodging (shared rooms for apprentices), meals and time-off from work.
Journeyman Events: Hurtman Rescue, Pole Climb, Two Journeyman Mystery Events
Apprentice Events: Apprentice Written Test, Hurtman Rescue, Pole Climb, CPR w/ AED, Mystery Event
RODEO SCHEDULE:
- Safety & Training Conference: October 16
- Rodeo Expo: October 16 & 17
- Barbecue and Trade Night: October 17
- Lineman’s Rodeo Competition: Saturday, October 18
- Awards Banquet: Saturday evening, following Rodeo
