Four IBEW 1245 organizing stewards are assisting a Teamster organizing drive at Taylor Farms in Tracy, CA. The proposed bargaining unit includes 900 workers.
“The Teamsters union has an organized a Taylor Farms facility in Salinas, but the company is putting on an aggressive anti-union campaign and has 10-12 union busters working full time in the facility,” said IBEW Organizer Jennifer Gray.
IBEW 1245 members working on the campaign are Rene Cruz -Martinez, Nilda Garcia, Erika Barron and Carl Olguin. Cruz-Martinez and Garcia also assisted in IBEW 1245’s recent successful effort to organize workers at Sunoptics in Sacramento.
The election in Tracy is set for March 27-28.
