A non-profit organization dedicated to helping families of fallen/injured linemen has announced a sweepstakes to benefit the family of Tom Flippo, an IBEW brother who died on the job on Nov. 30.
The National Sisterhood United for Journeymen Linemen, NSUJL, announced that anyone who donates $20 or more to NSUJL for the Flippo family will be entered into the sweepstakes to win a Dewalt 18v Cordless Tool kit. The sweepstakes runs from now to Dec. 19.
If you donate $50 or more you will receive a free shirt of your choice also. Each increment of $20 will count as an entry. Paypal donations can be made to donations@nsujl.org or mail donations to NSUJL, PO Box 156, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621. Let us know if you are mailing a donation.

The NSUJL has been endorsed by IBEW nationally as well as IBEW 1245.
Flippo, a 38-year member of IBEW Local 1245, died in a single-vehicle accident the morning of Nov. 30 while working in West Sacramento.
Flippo was a PG&E troubleman from the Woodland yard. According to a company bulletin, Flippo was responding to trouble during storm conditions in West Sacramento. While driving to his next location he was fatally injured when his vehicle struck a steel signal light pole.
Investigation of this incident will be co-led by the PG&E Safety Department and Electric Field Safety.
A vigil was scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 PM at Kraft Brothers, located at 175 2nd St, Woodland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 AM at Holy Rosary Church, located at 301 Walnut St, Woodland. Burial will follow to St Joseph’s Cemetery, located at 503 California St, Woodland.
