Local 1245 staff held roll-out meetings with line clearance tree trimmers in April to explain the new Tentative Agreement for 2012 with Asplundh Tree Expert, Wright Tree Service, Utility Tree Service and Trees Inc., pending a ratification vote. The ballots were counted April 20. Utility Tree Service’s agreement was ratified. The rest were rejected.
We have reached a Tentative Agreement with Windy Tree that will be going out for a ratification vote very soon.
Davey Tree Surgery headquarters are requesting to go from their five-day eight-hour schedules to four-day ten-hour schedules. So far the company is answering with a no. We can remember last year when the company had repeated elections to move to the 4X10 schedule and requested assistance to explain the issue to the members. We helped and the company got their 4X10 schedule. Now when the membership requests the 4X10 schedule the answer is no.
The 2012 Soccer Tournament is on track. We held a meeting on April 16 for the team captains at the hall. There will be more teams, more players, more games and more fun than last year.
