Regarding Membership Vote of Company’s October 12, 2011 Last Best and Final Offer

Dear Members,
As you are aware, your IBEW Local 1245 negotiating committee has been in contract negotiations for several weeks with the Company for a successor collective bargaining agreement. On the evening of Friday, September 30, 2011, the Union and Company negotiating committees reached tentative agreement in all proposal areas with the exception of Article 10.1 SICK LEAVE. We continued to negotiate over the terms of the Company’s Article 10.1 proposal, until we received the Company’s Last Best and Final offer on October 12, 2011. Nonetheless, your committee supports that the Company’s October 12, 2011 Last Best and Final offer is worthy of your consideration.
Your negotiating committee has been holding explanation meetings at different headquarters throughout the Frontier service territories covered by your collective bargaining agreement. The final explanation meeting will be held in Elk Grove the evening of October 17, 2011.
At each of the membership meetings, your committee has been handing out a document showing a summary of the changes to your collective bargaining agreement you will be voting on. In order to view the specific language in this regard, please go the IBEW Local Union 1245 web site at: www.ibew1245.com where you can review the actual language changes in this regard, including the Company’s October 12th final proposal for Article 10.1 SICK LEAVE. Look for a posting on the 1245 web site which is labeled “Proposed Changes to the Frontier Collective Bargaining Agreement”. Once you have decided how you will vote on the Company’s October 12, 2011 Last Best and Final proposals, follow the instructions on the ballot that you received in the mail, and then mail your completed ballot. In order to be counted, ballots must be received in the Union’s P.O. Box no later than 10 AM, November 3, 2011.
