SUBMIT PROPOSALS FOR NEGOTIATIONS

Tree Report – Southern Area

We are preparing for negotiations with many of our line clearance tree trimming contractors. Members should mail their proposals to the union hall at the following address: IBEW Local 1245 — Tree & VC Negotiations, 30 Orange Tree Circle, Vacaville, CA 95687.

Asplundh Tree Expert — We are expecting to hold a GRC for the remaining grievances in the system in late August. We are currently handing out proposal forms for our upcoming negotiations, due late summer to early fall 2011. Please mail all proposals to the union hall address listed above.

Davey Tree Surgery — We had an all hands meeting on July 18 in North Bay Division in Santa Rosa, CA. The company is claiming they are in the red on PG&E. We were also informed Humboldt Division, and Sierra Division are also on the bubble. The company made an offer to extend the agreement for one year, and see if things turn around. The offer extends the agreement to Dec 31, 2012. This is a 2% wage increase for all members working on PG&E properties system-wide. This will go out for a vote in early August. Make sure you vote!

City of Santa Clara — We received an offer from the company to extend the current agreement. This will go out for a vote.

TID Davey – We received complaints regarding the prevailing wage.  We are currently working to set up a meeting with the company.

Trees Inc. — The next GRC is expected to take place in late August.  We have several held-over grievances to discuss with the company.  We are currently handing out proposal forms for up-coming negotiations. Please mail to the Vacaville address given above.

Utility Tree — We now have a demotion grievance with the company regarding an audit by PG&E in Colusa. We expect to discuss this matter with the Area Supervisor. We are now handing out proposal forms for negotiations. Please mail to the Vacaville address given above.

Wright Tree — We were successful in a return-to- work agreement for an open grievance at SMUD. The company was successful in acquiring the PG&E Transmission bid in Sacramento. This work has already begun. We are currently handing out proposal forms for negotiations. Please mail to the Vacaville address given above. We may be holding joint negotiations with the Asplundh companies.
